What a great way to spend a HOT day. Other than this particular place I can’t say there is anything else I like about Florida. For the record, we have been to all the amusement parks and we lived only 1 hour away from Orlando (we even lived there for 9 months), and 30 minutes from Daytona Beach and St Augustine.
This picture is Crabtree Falls located off the Blue Ridge Parkway is about 1 mile long. The hike is moderate. Part of the path is somewhat steep, but well marked.

We have been to many waterfalls in NC, all of which have been free except for one. And I think the state has since purchased it and I think it will be cheaper if not free soon. One of the best books that I have is called North Carolina Waterfalls: A Hiking and Photography Guide by Kevin Adams. This is by far the best resource if you like waterfalls and live in NC. He lists many waterfalls that are not listed anywhere else. Why pay when you can see so many for free, and that includes some state parks. The book also has some really nice pictures. He is a professional photographer and has written a few books.
Roaring Fork a very easy hike along a gravel path about .5 miles long.
