Last day of Triples! HT, BiLo, FL and Walgreens

I will admit, I am tired of this and glad it is over. If there wasn't the Kelloggs deal and the Pillsbury deal I wouldn't have shopped so much, the $10 GC rebate and $4 off when you buy 10 but were free after coupons just made it too difficult to pass up. I hope the sales stink for the next 2 weeks because I have already spent MOST of my money for this first half of the month of APRIL and it is only March 31st!

So far I have qualified for $90 in the Harris Teeter/Kelloggs Gift card rebate. I have also just sent out a boatload of rebates and free item coupons too. I plan on one more trip to HT to get one more $10 HTGC and that will qualify me for another $10 beer rebate too! And it will probably cost me less than $5 to qualify for those $20 in rebates.

It also occured to me today that I if we have any big ticket purchases this year to see if BiLo has a gift card for the store we might purchase from. They ahve a deal going on where for every $500 in gift cards you buy from them you get a $25 BiLo gift card. I am kicking myself because I spent probably $3000 last year at Kohls and I definately could have purchased those gift cards first. Though I am not sure if they had that deal going on then. I WILL remember this year to check if I am going to continue to buy from Kohls.

The best banana nut bread recipe EVER!

This is what I bought the over ripe bananas for today. I read on someone elses blog she was going to make banana bread with an over abundance of bananas she got for CHEAP.

I have had a few Banana bread recipes and this one is by far my favorite. I have changed a few things from the original. I love this banana bread!

2/3c Sugar
1/2 cup Butter (must be REAL BUTTER)
2 eggs
3 medium over ripe bananas mashed (1.25cup)
1/2T vanilla
1 1/3c flour
1/3 cup oat bran
1 cup chopped pecans (you can use walnuts I prefer pecans)
1/2t baking soda
1/2t salt
1/4t cinnamon

Set oven temp for 350 and preheat.
Cream butter and sugar until light anf fluffy. Add eggs and mix until fully incorporated. Turn mixer to low and add vanilla and banana, mix well. Add remaining ingredents and mix by hand just until combined-do not overmix!

Spoon batter into 8x4 inch loaf pan and cook for 60-70 minutes
OR
Spoon into muffin tins fill 2/3 way full cook for 19-24 minutes

If you don't have oat bran that is OK, change flour to 1 2/3 cup instead.

Harris Teeter and Arby's

Yesterday in my inbox I received an email from Pepsi and Arby's...The email contained 2 links. One was-buy 2 Pepsi 12pks get a free 12 pk of Flavored Diet Pepsi. The second link was to a coupon that said Buy 1 pepsi at Arby's and get a free Arby's Roast Burger. So I took my coupon and went to Arby's for my Free Roast burger, I have to say, it was good. There is a choice of 3 different sandwiches. I got the Bacon Cheddar and since I am not a fan of the Roast beef sandwiches, I was pleasantly surprised I liked this sandwich! So for $1.70 I got a drink and sandwich.
