Ok, so I was looking at some of the pictures and reading blogs (well the 2 that I follow, they live near or at where the hurricane went through) and it got me to thinking. I know we would be OK food wise and
ok for water for a little while because of my stock pile. We are very fortunate that where we live, when our power goes out, which is a very rare
occasion, it comes on fairly quickly. The longest that it has been out since we lived here has been a few hours (and the whole grid went out too). We went to bed and the power was back on in the morning. But what if the power was off for a long period? I worry about my freezers and
frige. I can live without everything else. We have all that camping equipment, plus a grill with a full propane tank with a side burner. But I am thinking a generator is what we need. I saw on TV how these people from FL got generators from SC and took them to TX to "help" them out by selling them for $1408 EACH! And I am sure they were getting the $400 version from either Home Depot or
Lowes. Maybe instead of the new freezer I should have gotten a generator. But I am pretty sure that would be a hard sell to my husband.
